Measure externally
Measure these three dimensions:
- Frame width right (1)
- Frame width left (2)
- Clear width (4)
Add Dimensions
1 + 2 + 4 = reveal width
Example: 30 mm + 35 mm 950 mm
= 1,015 reveals width
Choose Order Width
Choose the next smallest order width between 900 mm, 1000 mm, 1100 mm, 1200 mm.
Is the roller blind narrower than the clear width? This will create a small gap through which light can pass. Installation is still possible. If this bothers you, you can order a custom-made product.

Do I need to ask my landlord?
Since installing CLIP & SHADE external roller blinds requires no structural changes to the window or facade, causes no damage whatsoever, and can be removed at any time, you can install our heat protection roller blind even without your landlord's permission. However, we recommend informing your landlord – they are often willing to cover part of the purchase costs.
How do I install the exterior roller blind?
The individual components of the external roller blind can be assembled without tools. The sun blind is then placed in the window frame and secured with our tested and proven clamping mechanism. You can find more details on this in our assembly video and in our assembly instructions.
Is the roller blind fall-proof?
When correctly installed according to our installation instructions, the external roller blind will hold securely and for a long time! Make sure you select the correct clips and regularly check them for deformation.
How do I choose the appropriate width and height?
Width
Choose the width so that the external blind fits into the reveal (=window niche in the masonry outside). If the blind width is smaller than the clear width (width in the window with the sash open), a light gap will appear. This is purely an optical limitation and the blind can still be easily installed!
Height
Measure the clear height in your window (height in the window with the sash open) and select the appropriate range in the dropdown.

Which fabric offers better protection against heat?
Both fabrics have the exact same heat protection effect! Both the translucent and the privacy fabric block over 90% of the sun's energy before it even reaches the window and are the ideal heat protection for the outside of the window.
The translucent fabric has the added advantage that no artificial light is needed inside when the exterior blind is closed. This not only saves on electricity costs but also creates a pleasant atmosphere in the room.
Do I need to hire a professional to install the exterior roller shutter?
No, you can easily install our roller blind yourself!
Assembling the individual components and installing them in the window frame is incredibly easy and can be done in no time. Our customers usually don't need a professional, even if they have limited DIY skills. However, if you do get stuck, we're happy to offer helpful tips.
